It was a slightly windy day out, and it made things colder than usual. Even with the doors and windows tightly shut it still managed to find it's way indoors. Mrs. Lovett shivered slightly as she beat the dough down with her rolling pin, causing the cloud of flour to rise thickly overhead. "Darn cold air, keeps all the customers indoors" she complained under her breath as she continued rolling out the dough. Business was usually better than this, but with it being so cold out, people didn't come out as much. She stopped for a moment to brush off her skirt, if they did ever get a customer this day, she didn't want to look dirty.
She sat her roller down as she walked from behind the old counter to the window. She peered out only to see few people scattered across the street. She smiled at the man who looked like he was well overdue for a shave "I'll be seein' you soon" she whispered to herself with a small chuckle. It was dark humor, but humor none the less.
She then sighed and returned to her place behind the counter to kneed and roll the dough for the morning's pies.
